Proof of the ability that exists in the archipelago was shown by the success of a delegation from the Canary Islands to the American city of Mountain View, in Silicon Valley last May. There, and headed by the minister of Industry, Commerce and New Technology of the Government of the Canary Islands, Marisa Tejedor, eleven canary technology-based companies presented their projects to more than 300 American investors and a delegation of 50 canarian investors, demonstrating the high level of the proposals that emerge in the islands.

500 participants and two of the participating high technology companies came to agreements with the investors and obtained funding. That was the exceptional result of the "Canarias Technology 2006" Forum, our two cents in the effort of turning the Archipelago into a worldwide referent in the manufacture of highly added value products. Another aim of "Canarias Technology 2006" was presenting the Canary Islands to the international circuit of venture capital, of Technology Based Companies. The presence and support of the director of Intel Capital California, José Blanc, was without a doubt a big step towards this goal. Making this bet a reality now depends on the continuity and results. As far as we are concerned, we will set our heart and efforts on it.
