Canary Islands
The Canary Island is a territory of the European Union further south of the continent in the Atlantic Ocean. Recognized as a tourist destination, the islands receive nine million visitors annually, which are the main source of wealth. The regional GDP is divided into: 79% service sector; 12% construction; 7% industry; and 3% agriculture.
Tourism and the service and construction-related sectors are the principal motor for the economy -a healthy and growing economy, yet overly-dependent on one sector. For the Government of the Canary Islands, economic diversification through the development of a type of clean industry, compatible with tourism, is a priority.
For them, our main source of wealth is our people. Creative. Imaginative. Since Christopher Columbus, the Canaries has been the last European port-of-call on the journey to the New World while the enterprising vanguard Canarians founded cities like Montevideo in Uruguay and San Antonio in Texas. Adapting and advancing, making things better and faster - these are all innate characteristics that persevere in a territory where, for the first time in its history, has 45,000 university students, 40% of which are seeking scientific or technological degrees. Our people are the best primary resource so that your business will reach its full potential operating from the Canary Islands.
